In what has to be one of the strangest cases of distracted driving ever documented in Canada, a Vancouver man was caught driving with an iPhone and a Samsung tablet tied to his steering wheel.
The Vancouver Police Department’s traffic division tweeted a photo of the motorist’s DIY setup. The iPhone appears to be tied around the steering wheel with a string while the tablet appears to be wedged in between the two.
“Can’t make it up,” an officer wrote on Twitter.
Can't make it up. Guy had iPad and cell phone attached by strings on steering wheel while driving! Yes, that's his ticket he's holding. pic.twitter.com/h5WoA2ac87

Police said they pulled the man over because he was spotted by officers wearing headphones. While police decided not issue the man a ticket for distracted driving, he did receive an $81 ticket for failing to produce his driver’s licence.
If you look closely, you can see the man in question holding the ticket in his hand.
A distracted driving ticket would have cost him $368.
